Best Places to Propose in Oregon

So, you are ready to propose. But where? You want somewhere special, memorable, beautiful and able to create a surprise. Its not an easy task but I’ve got some ideas for best places to propose in Oregon to get you headed in the right direction. You will want to consider any place that is special to the two of you(first date, your favorite waterfall, etc). As well as if you want a private time just the two of you, or if your partner would love to be surrounded by friends and family! No matter where or how a proposal is a special moment that deserves to be celebrated!

Ecola State Park at Cannon Beach

Almost anywhere in Canon Beach is amazing and my favorite areas are in Ecola State Park. Whether it is stunning overlooks, dense forests, or beautiful beaches Ecola has the setting. Like any location, you will want to do a scouting trip to see what areas are open and best suited for a proposal. You can certainly find a great spot here though!

Mt. Hood

This picture is from a wedding at Mt Hood Ski Bowl East. These two rode the ski lift to the very top for their wedding photos and I couldn’t help but think what an amazing spot it would be for a proposal. You really can’t go wrong anywhere on the mountain.

Hoyt Arboretum

Hoyt has miles and miles of amazing hiking trails that you could use for an epic proposal. One of my favorite spots is the Redwood Deck which overlooks the forest and is an easy hike to find!

Downtown Portland Waterfront

The Eastside of the the Willamette River that runs through downtown Portland is a great spot to propose. It has a long walkway that connects as a full loop with bridges across the river. My personal favorite spots are a couple of docks that you can walk out on and be surrounded by the water. With the city right behind you it would be an amazing spot to propose!

Secret Spot Near Lincoln City

This is that stunning location from the top of the page. I’m not going to blow up this spot on the internet but if you send me a message I will 100% give you directions right to it. It’s got a 270 degree ocean view and is stunning at sunset. The wind is a factor but well worth it!

Cathedral Park in Portland

Cathedral Park is the rare rainy day option because when you are under the bridge you can stay (relatively) dry. Its a super pretty setting and isn’t to busy. A great option especially in volatile weather. The parking is easy and is in the middle of the very fun St. Johns neighborhood.

Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden

A great public garden with lots of beautiful private areas, lakeside benches and fun bridges. There are many places that you can wander and explore. A real hidden gem and worth checking out as a fun option in Southeast Portland.
