For the absolute best wedding experience, it is crucial to have a good relationship with your photographer. I am your third wheel on your wedding day, and will be present for all the special moments. That’s why I place an emphasis on having a great relationship with my couples. So they love having me around and feel free to be their truest selves.

My goal is for your photos to feel just like your wedding did. They should transport you back to the night. You should be able to smell the flowers and feel the dance floor. For me a good photo captures not just the image but the emotion of the day.

I photographed my first wedding over 18 years ago and have celebrated with couples all over the country. Likely, you don’t know anyone who has handled as many dresses or danced the cupid shuffle as much as I have. Weddings are an unpredictable celebrations that have moments of jubilation and ones of complex emotion. My approach is to join your family for the day, photograph the day from the inside out, and capture the magic when it arrives in anticipated or unexpected ways.

Why Mt. Hood feels like an easy choice. It’s hard to stand beneath a mountain that’s been here for thousands of years without gaining a little perspective. The details still matter, but they stop feeling quite so urgent. The mountain has a way of slowing people down, encouraging them to look up, take a breath, and be where they are.
Maybe that’s why Mt. Hood and weddings fit together so well. Weddings are full of moving parts, emotions, and expectations. Mt. Hood offers something steady in the middle of all of it. Whether the summit is glowing in the evening light or tucked behind a layer of clouds, the experience is never really about perfect conditions. It’s about gathering the people you love in a place that feels significant.
I’ve photographed enough weddings around Mt. Hood to know that every celebration takes on the character of its surroundings. A quiet ceremony in the forest feels different than a celebration overlooking the mountain. A cozy lodge reception has a different rhythm than an outdoor dinner beneath the trees. That’s part of what keeps bringing me back.
Maybe it’s because Mt. Hood has a way of reminding people to let go of everything that doesn’t matter. Surrounded by towering evergreens, alpine meadows, and one of the most recognizable landscapes in the Pacific Northwest, it’s easier to be present with the people you’ve come to celebrate. And when that happens, the photographs tend to feel more honest too.

Nate is incredible!! He’s responsive, professional, and takes stunning photos. I should also mentioned, he worked our wedding in 106 degree heat and still managed to make us all look put together and beautiful. He was very down to earth and made us feel so comfortable. We loved Nate as our wedding photographer! He is laid back, professional, dedicated to his craft, and focused on making his clients feel as relaxed as possible. On top of all of that, he was willing to be with us the entire day and into the evening, so he was able to capture all of our special moments with no compromises.

Nate is such a GEM of a human! Not only is he chill but he is quite the talented photographer. We booked Nate for our Engagement photos as well as our Wedding and I’m so glad we did. He was up for an adventure with us on a snowy day on Mt. Hood in February for our engagement shoot. He even had snow tires put on his car specifically for this trip! Ryan and I are not models but that didn’t matter. Nate made us laugh and more importantly made us feel comfortable. Our pics were EPIC! Nate will be part of our family memories forever!

His experience was so helpful as we worked to set up our day-of schedule and coordinating when pictures would be. He also was great at keeping us on schedule. My husband and I can’t say enough great things about Nate!! We got married in Oregon in March, so we knew that it was going to be nearly impossible to predict the weather in advance. Thankfully, Nate was perfectly comfortable with being flexible and adapting on the fly. The weather turned out to be gorgeous and we got incredible outdoor photos at a nearby Portland location that Nate suggested for us!
