Some moments just feel like magic—and Colin’s surprise proposal to Kristin on the Oregon Coast was exactly that.

Colin and Kristin had traveled all the way from Texas to explore the Pacific Northwest, but he had a bigger plan in mind. He reached out to me ahead of time, and together we worked out the perfect way to surprise her. From timing to location, we coordinated every detail so it would feel effortless when the moment came.

I showed up pretending to be just another photographer out enjoying the day. Totally casual. Just a guy with a camera. Kristin didn’t suspect a thing.

Then, on a sunny overlook above the Pacific Ocean, Colin dropped to one knee. Her reaction was priceless—pure surprise and joy as the ocean breeze swept through. I kept snapping away to capture the exact moment their lives changed forever.

After the big yes (of course she said yes!), we wandered the cliffs and trails nearby for a golden-hour portrait session. The lighting was perfect, the wind was gentle, and these two were glowing. Being able to document that mix of fresh excitement and deep connection is why I love what I do.

The Oregon Coast delivered its signature blend of beauty and drama, which paired perfectly with such a meaningful moment. And getting to help Colin pull off the surprise? Even better.
